It has been found from the latest financial results that the number of customers taking the broadband, home phone and digital TV bundles has been increased by Sky Broadband.
According to the results, in the three months the number of customers taking the broadband provider’s triple play bundles increased from 12% to 17%. Not only this, 100,000 new broadband customers have been added by the Sky Broadband thus bringing the total to 2.3 million. The company brought the total to 1.9 million by adding around 132,000 home phone customers. This is all possible because of the discounts offered to the broadband customers while they sign up to Sky Talk at the same time.
Soon more customers will be able to link to the ISP’s LLU network at reasonable prices and faster speeds as 70% of local telephone exchanges have now been upgraded and enabled for full local loop unbundling (LLU). Sky had 150,000 fully unbundled customers at 30 September.
The chief executive of Sky broadband, Jeremy Darroch, said: “In what continues to be a tough economic environment, we have increased the number of customers joining Sky. High -definition has continued to perform very well and more customers are saving money by choosing Sky for each of TV, broadband and telephony.
Broadbandchoices.co.uk product director,Michael Phillips, added: “The discounts that Sky offers to customers taking all three of its services – broadband, home phone and digital TV- which allow customers to take advantage of one of the few ‘free broadband’ offers still on the market, will have gone a long way to attracting new customers who want to save money on their broadband without compromising on their home telecoms.”
