After a long time period, it has been indicated by Reuters and microSD card provider SanDisk that Microsoft will introduce the Project Pink formally tomorrow, April 12th.
Microsoft, who has only launched mobile phone software has now made an entry in the mobile phone device market. It purchased Danger, Inc., maker of the popular Sidekick device, back in the year 2008.
The two Project Pink phones are the Turtle and the Pure. Although, Reuters stated that the ‘Turtle’ and ‘Pure’ are actually code names. These gadgets will be renamed after their release.
As confirmed by multiple reports, Project Pink devices will be introduced on Verizon. Moreover, it has been confirmed by the FCC reports that these devices are designed by Sharp, a longtime partner of Danger, Inc.
As far as the Pure is concerned, it comprises of a tiled interface emphasizing on social networking. The interface lacks Windows Phone 7. It is suspected that Microsoft is addressing younger generation with Project Pink. Danger’s Sidekick mobile phone was very popular among young people. Its full keyboard and innovative flip screen was perfect for the purpose of messaging. Also it was very simple to use Sidekick OS than the other mobile operating systems like Windows Mobile and the Palm OS.
Although, the Sidekick was launched in the year 2002. At that time, smartphones were awful and costly as well. But today, there exists a large number of smartphones emphasizing on social networking features attracting the younger users.
